![]() The DIA was presented with a conceptual redesign of Riverplace Boulevard intended to calm traffic speed, increase pedestrian safety and mobility, and beautify the roadway. The concept calls for reducing the number of vehicle lanes from 5 to 2; adding angled on-street parking all along the road to support area retailers and visitors to the Riverwalk; widen the sidewalks and add a protected bike lane; remove the traffic signals in favor of roundabouts; and provide easily discernible pedestrian crossings. The concept is similar to recent improvements completed on San Marco Boulevard.
